I trusted what I read and bought this brush, with fairly low expectations that it would do what I read. I have a younger cat that ended up having 3-4 very heavy chunks of matted fur on her backsides. We tried the combs, and the scissors (very carefully) and could not get rid of them.
Enter this maxpower grooming brush. The 12 teeth side was for grooming, the 6 teeth side was for dematting. We did the 12 teeth initially, and she seemed to like it. We switched to the 6 teeth and you can feel that it really does dig in and grab the matted fur. It does, kind of, brush through the area, but when you apply yourself it really digs in and tries to dislodge the knot. I did it gently initially, then just tried to get ‘into it’ and pull it out.
As I did it, she definitely could fee something, but no whimper, no claws or swipes, just a look back at me with a ‘what are you doing back there’ kind of nod. Within maybe 8-10 drags of the brush the knot was gone, and I easily pulled it away from her. You can tell/feel it’s pulling on her, and she did vocalize a bit on the last few drags, but certainly nothing in pain, no meows.
We decided one knot per session, so over the next few days, maybe week, we would attack the other knots. One or 2 were easy, one or 2 were really imbedded, but, the magic worked and they came out. I just finished the last one today, and she is knot free.
Our girl I guess is a short haired cat, and this brush worked wonders. My wife and I are so glad we got it and can 100% recommend it.

If this brush broke today I would order a new one the same day. We have a few cats and one of them is long haired. We are fortunate that he LOVES to be brushed. This does an amazing job at removing his undercoat. I didn’t take any pictures but it works just as well on short haired cats!

Works better than I ever dreamed!
I read the reviews and wasnΒt expecting much but I have two husky/malamute pups and the house was getting hairier by the minute so I had to try something. Amazing. It was coming out in clumps and in startling, never-ending amounts! One of these days IΒll find the dog underneath it all but until then, this was money well spent.

I was very skeptical about this, but this brush has been a GODSEND! The quality is great! Very sturdy! The handle is nice for a good grip! I canΒt even begin to tell you how GREAT and easy it is to brush! It removes SO much hair! It was definitely worth the buy!!!

This truly is the best brush! We have a one year-old German Shepherd at home and just recently relocated from Oregon to Nevada. His coat has gone crazy during the transition and this brush helped remove hair. I hadnΒt even known was there. He looks like a whole new dog! It fits in the hand perfectly and cleaning it was no problem throughout brushing him!

The Maxpower Planet Hair Brush is exactly as described, and it works wonderfully for my Bernese Mountain Dog! The extra wide design makes grooming much faster, and it does a fantastic job of reducing sheddingΒprobably about 95% as advertised. My dog absolutely loves it, and it doesnΒt hurt her at all.
The double-sided rake is great for getting through her thick undercoat without causing any discomfort. ItΒs easy to use, and the handle is comfortable to hold during longer grooming sessions.
I highly recommend this brush for anyone with a dog or cat that has a thick coat! ItΒs effective and gentle.

I foster dogs and my recent one was a matted Tibetan Spaniel. He has an appointment to be groomed, but in the interim, I got this and was able to work on one part of his hair and get it nice and smooth.

I bought this for my shedding GSD who I recently moved into the house and I must say it worked miracles. Hair is easily removable from the rake part. It got hair out that the regular brushes were missing by a long shot. I would highly recommend!

CanΒt say enough good things about this two sided grooming brush. Works well on my German shepherd. I was even about to use the brush to pull a mat out of Maine cooneΒs fur without having to cut it. Neither cat or dog seemed to mind it

After many years of owning cats, I ended with one that has long hair. I thought brushing him with a regular brush would be enough. Nope – he gets mats down at the base of his fur, next to the skin, and the brush either yanks on it or doesnΒt go near it. Either way, itΒs still there. I saw a TikTok video of a long haired cat being brushed with something like this, and the owner was saying this pulls out the shedding base layer of fur so that it canΒt mat.
ThatΒs exactly what it does. The amount of fur this comb brings out is STARTLING- we use the regular brush afterwards to smooth out the fur and pick up any more dislodged hair. He hasnΒt had a mat or a serious tangle since we got it.
Mind you, he doesnΒt enjoy it. Not that it hurts, but I imagine it feels weird. So he gets to eat a Churu while heΒs combed out and he seems to think thatΒs a decent trade off.

With 2 German shepards who shed like crazy, this brush is amazing. It looks like a medieval torture tool but works like a dream. The dogs love it and I love that it significantly helps get rid of the excess fur.

I have a long haired cat and dogΒ IΒm tired of the knots and the hair around the house. This helps a lot. My cat doesnΒt like to be brushed, but she will tolerate this. Wish I wouldΒve bought it sooner!

Decided to try this to supplement my brush on my Irish Wolfhound lab mix. It’s a game changer easier, more effective and my dog even seems to like it more than the brush. I would give it more stars if I could. Round one resulted in a massive ball of hair I can hardly wait to have another go at it tomorrow. If you have never had one of these, buy it right now and enjoy. Easy to use, easy to clean, highly effective, dog likes it, I love it

So great we have 2.

I have 2 huskies so you already know we need a great DE shedding tool for all their fur. I’ve used the furminator for years and while it did a decent job, I needed something more. Bought these because of the reviews and it definitely lives up to the hype. I like the double sided rake. It works great to get out any loose undercoat and the comb is great for loosening up any mats and doing around their faces/ears. I was really surprised at the amount of fur that came out of my huskies with these tools. I’m really glad I purchased these.
M. McCoy –
This is the best brush weΒve used on our golden retriever. It pulls off 5 times as much hair as other brushes. The only downside is that it pulls off so much hair so quickly that it would be better to use it outside

Oh my gosh – it really works well

This grooming comb or rake is very effective. It has two different sets of combs that effectively groom our dog. We particularly like the side with the wider set teeth as it cuts through the coat easier and removes loose fur. It’s important to follow the directions to hold the comb at a 45Β° angle and to *not* use a lot of pressure, especially on the first passes through the dog’s coat. The handle is well designed and ergonomic.

This is an amazing tool for our doodle. The amount of hair that was removed was incredible. He loves being brushed and he loves this as well! It is perfect and such a huge improvement to his coat. Even with the tight curly hair, he has in places, it works wonders. I would highly recommend this to anyone. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made.

I used the rake brush and gloves today very strong material and great value . My dogΒs coat looked instantly brighter and smoother. The gloves worked well and my dog seemed to enjoy the massaging sensation.

If you have a dog or cat that sheads this is for you. My friend who has German Shepards suggested this and it didn’t disappoint. Really gets into the undercoat to remove that excess hair. I have noticed a significant difference in my dogs coat.

I’ve tried several brushes for my medium hair cat. They hurt my wrist, and it felt like I could brush forever and still not get all her loose hair. Brushing her was a chore, and I didn’t like it. Now, I enjoy brushing her. It’s so satisfying. I brush her almost every day and it’s obvious I’m getting all the hair. The hair is easy to get off the brush too. Also, I can brush her for a long time with no wrist pain. She seems to enjoy it. Her coat feels and looks so much better. I got the small one for my cat. I almost want to buy the big one so I can brush my nephew’s German Shepherd. His coat is not well maintained and i know this brush would do such a great job.
No, I haven’t been paid for this review. It’s just a great brush. Lol

This is really the only brush that works on my golden that IΒve tried. My god I get hairy in the process, so does my carpet- so be prepared in specific clothes or something. But I get piles bigger than she is out so easily. She hates being brushed. But the brush works so easily and fast that it doesnΒt matter too much. The grip is good. It doesnΒt hurt her at all. And the size is not to small or big. I would suggest this to any and all dog owners. Especially high maintenance dogs like goldens.

Two of my cats are part Maine Coon and tend to get lots of burrs and tangles. Keeping their bums clean is a battle. Especially for Bilbo, who is a bit Rubenesque in his proportions. Meanwhile, Pippin was getting burrs under his kitty armpits. Something had to give, because the hairbrush just wasn’t enough.
I found this, price and reviews were good, so I gave it a try. I set to work on them both as soon as I could, and I’m happy to report that both boys are burr-free and tangle-free, even in the posterior. Definitely worth every penny.

The first order for this item did NOT arrive or was taken before I went to the front gate, I tried to file it as non recievied but apparently Amazon expects me to return it? The second replacement order was recieved timely with no problems. It works fine and we’re happy with it. Please acknowledge my missing first order. I don’t want to be charged for it. Thank you

We have two shepherds and a long hair cat. I’ve used it on all 3 and they look much better. I have used the furminator and other various brushes in the past, but none worked as well and as quickly as this one. And for $9, you can’t beat that.

I never got so much hair off my husky. This rake is so easy to use, and my dog didn’t mind it. The 2 sides work amazing. The hair comes off the rake so easy. I am happy I combed him outside because there was hair everywhere. It didn’t hurt him at all. I highly recommend this product.

I was skeptical and thought that I might have to return it. I’m keeping it! Works on my cat’s mats very well. I recommend this.

I originally for this for grooming my lab as it was the kind of brush that was recommended to me. Found that her hair is not quite long enough to benefit from it. I used it on a friends dog that has a collie mix, so big shedder and very long hair. Wow it worked great. Was able to get all that lose hair in the undercoat out and dematted. It worked so well I gave her the brush to have.
